Overdue

At long last, some fall break pictures! Sorry to keep my public (all 2 of you) waiting.

In mid-October, a friend and I went camping just outside the little town that has stolen my heart - betcha can't guess what state these pictures were taken in! It was a bit chilly, with one night in the lower twenties and frost inside the tent, but I loved (almost) every minute. I just feel more real and alive when I'm living out-of-doors. Quotable: The True Solution

A passage from Blood Brothers by Father Elias Chacour, a Palestinian Christian archbishop and Nobel Peace Prize nominee:

"If there is a problem somewhere," he said with his dry chuckle, "this is what happens. Three people will try to do something concrete to settle the issue. Ten people will give a lecture analyzing what the three are doing. One hundred people will commend or condemn the ten for their lecture. One thousand people will argue about the problem. And one person -- only one -- will involve himself [or herself] so deeply in the true solution that [s]he is too busy to listen to any of it."

"Now," he asked gently, his penetrating eyes meeting each of ours in turn, "which person are you?"
