Terror

Feeding the world's poor would cost less than the U.S. alone spends annually on killing the world's angry, desperate, and helpless in the name of "rooting out evil". Their children starve while we grow fat. We charge ahead in blind, numb, compulsive, insatiable consumption and somehow manage to sleep at night while our economy gobbles up the land, resources, dignity, livlihoods, homes, and lives of billions of our fellow human beings. Their loss is our gain.

Is it any wonder that "they" hate us? What, in this madness, were we expecting to win?

"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen." - Ezekiel 16:29

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless. What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?" - Isaiah 10:1-3
